About Me
If you're looking for a counsellor who is warm and fuzzy - I'm your person.

Hi! I’m Lisa (she/hers). I am a Registered Clinical Counsellor with the British Columbia Association of Clinical Counsellors (BCACC). I completed my Bachelor's of Arts degree in Honours Psychology at Western University and my Master of Arts degree in Counselling Psychology at Simon Fraser University.
I have over a decade of experience supporting adults, children, youth, and families. My career has primarily been in government and non-profit settings starting with the Kelty Patrick Dennehy Foundation and the Kelty Mental Health Resource Centre in Children’s Hospital in 2010.

More importantly, I am passionate about normalizing counselling and eliminating the stigma around mental health challenges (just ask me about my own journey with mental health and counselling). I recognize my immense privilege as a white, cis-gendered, able-bodied, straight-sized neurotypical woman in a hetero relationship. I grew up with access to housing, financial stability and education.
Bringing an intersectional lens to my work helps me recognize privilege and forces of oppression and the impacts they have on mental health.
I know firsthand that it can be scary to seek counselling but I also know that it can be incredibly liberating and life changing. My goal is to create a safe space so that you, your kids, and your family can experience the benefits of counselling.

I love music, animals, arts and crafts, and the feeling of taking a nap without having to set an alarm.
